Kathmandu-On the fifth trading day of the week, the NEPSE index edged down by 1.13 points to close at 2,600.78 on Friday, compared to the previous trading session. In the previous session, the benchmark index had fallen by 19.67 points to settle at 2,601.92.

A total of 120 companies posted gains in their share prices, while the share prices of 135 companies declined. During the day’s trading, 10,660,337 shares of 367 companies were traded through 53,432 transactions.

The total daily turnover stood at Rs 6.86 billion, up from Rs 4.61 billion recorded in the previous trading session.

Shares of Atmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited recorded the highest gain of the day, rising 10.66 per cent. Meanwhile, Bhagwati Hydropower Development Company Limited posted the steepest decline, with its share price falling 7.83 per cent.

In terms of trading value, Nepal Bank Debenture 2087 topped the list, with debt securities worth Rs 899.1 million changing hands.

Among the 13 sectoral indices, six advanced while seven declined. The Trading sub-index emerged as the day’s top performer, gaining 1.27 per cent.
